How companies become evil

Here in this essay, I want to explain the chain of causality of how corporations might forget the essential problem they wanted to solve initially, and make a lot more problems around it for the sake of their own good, and somewhere in the line, the end justifies the means for them, and use anything they have/can, to continue. My work here is not to establish good/bad and judge, my work here is to make you think, without making you judge it!

When you can see the natural chain of causality and the force behind a thing from down the chain to above and understand the graph of causality, you see that it can't happen differently, just like anything else. That's the time that we stop judging, and start to understand.

So... if you are a corporate hater, you're in the right place.

Absence of Self

The most fundamental psychological fear that the human being has ever had has been death, and the reality thereof. We do anything to avoid the idea that we will not exist one day, for a sense of relief. The human being believes that its beliefs are higher than reality, that taking side to imagination, so and so not true, but temporarily relieving therefrom, is calming, since the mind can't distinguish reality from imagination, but it does not last, since the mind wants some anchor in reality, something that it can see every day, and most importantly, to suffer therefor.

Absence of Self can not be understood within the existence of the object of mind of the self itself, so and so if it does, it's painful.

The idea of death, the fear of it, haunts the human animal like nothing else.

Ernest Becker

(Therefrom AND Thereto) OR Continuity

When I was born, I was born from my parents, and they came from their parents, and so on. Also every living creature in this world has come from something, and transformed to something else, and IF it was lucky, it has made something behind to continue it as an extension of self.

Inclination or accidental pleasure affection

Refer to: Memory

There's a place in the basement of my mind that made the connection, somewhere around 4000 years ago, between the continuity of mother nature's living creatures and anything that has these in common therewith:

  • Stays after me
  • It came out of me
  • I see myself in it
  • I suffered for it

So the man started looking for anything that the mind can connect with some of these, so it can make the rest.

I didn't order pain, I want pleasure, with extra suffering please, so I can taste meaning!

Suffering makes the idea/delusion real, because it feels real, it brings the delusion to life.

-- Constants --
pain = what I want to avoid
Pleasure = the opposite of pain
meaning = Why pursuing that goal matters to me
suffering = the pain I endure
-- ONE Variable --
goal = has these 4 conditions:
- Stays after me
- It came out of me
- I see myself in it
- I (can) suffer for it

suffering * goal = meaning * pleasureSuffering for a goal → pain that can feel worth enduring.

suffering * pain = painSuffering without a goal → pain that feels pointless.

Those who live are those who struggle; those whose soul and mind are filled with a firm purpose.

Victor Hugo

The goal is the variable, because it can be anything, as long as it has all conditions, except suffering so I can complete it, and THAT makes me inclined towards itself.

Pick your poison, them or them, and it could be you!

This continuity becomes more important than others' continuity, when it's mine, I am now deeply attached, like a part of body, like a child, it's called ownership, and between something that is mine or them, I'll always choose mine and impose the pain towards others.

So what happened to the meaning? The company that was founded with the goal of treating people and making medicine is now patenting, keeping the gates of knowledge and usage closed, and overselling the price to normal people!? Somewhere down the line, the initial meaning of foundation has been deprioritized and continuity prioritized.

I created this company; I recognize myself in it; therefore, its continuity begins to feel connected to myself as an extension.

The most dangerous animal in nature is the hurt one.

SURVIVAL OR Continuity

That's the answer, right there, it's survival, but one step farther, because it lasts after me, so it's even more impactive; even the self itself will sacrifice its survival for continuity.

HOW not WHY

When I think about these things, I care about HOW, and not WHY, because when you ask yourself why, you need a meaning, and meaning is tied to VALUES, which will cause bias. My words' purpose here is not to project the values of my mind into something, it's to understand HOW it happened.

You can stay in good/bad/why and completely ignore HOW. Most of the time when evil is imagined, it's something external, another event, someone else, without imagination of what if I had gone through the same HOW: would I still have had my external point of view towards myself?

This lens is called freedom to me: meaning, good, bad, less hate and judgment, and more understanding. It does not mean I don't have values, it just means I know all values / meaning / good / bad are relative, and not facts, so I hold facts above my values; as it presents as my God, the reality, to see it clearly as what it is.
